Julep Nail Parlor Company : Lawsuit > Maven Customer Service Issues

Ah, a fresh new day and already we have heard news of a new lawsuit filed against Julep by Zoya (Art of Beauty). Granted the file date was back in August but perhaps we only heard of it recently.

Granted, it doesn't take much to backtrack the quick history of Julep since their real public push when they started their Maven program.

If you want the rest of the information regarding the lawsuit, please see this site as someone has kindly paid and purchased the documentation with the filing. Looks like Julep has a bigger fish to worry about than all of the Mavens complaining about relevant issues. Granted, it was probably a poor idea to name your polishes after girls names much like Zoya has been doing, but I'm not in the "know" enough to have an idea if you can trademark or protect a naming right on polishes as part of your brand appearance. If someone knows, please weight in! I love learning more about this stuff, since my background has nothing to do with law or political science!

Dupe Question: Zoya Jules vs Chanel Quartz

As I was looking at my new Chanel Quartz I thought the color reminded me of a bottle of Zoya Jules I had received in a previous BirchBox (and also picked up during the Zoya Earth Exchange program).

I figured a swatch and comparison was in line for those who may have also wondered.

No worries, not a dupe, but big base color differences and shimmer/glitter marks them as unique.

Overall my thoughts are that both are unique enough to own each, however I feel that Quartz flatters my skin tone better than Jules does so I'll be putting Jules in my next Nail Polish Swap box I do on TPF.

Nail Wear Wednesday!

I'm going to try to make Wednesday's when I highlight what today's (or my recent) nail polish is. I change it so often it's almost a different color or appearance every other day!

Today on my both my hands and toes I am wearing Zoya. The toes look good with my outfit (in blue) today.

Their website describes it as:

"Medium electric cobalt blue with fine bright aqua shimmer. A bold blue that looks good on all skin tones."

Their website describes it as:

"Light warm peachy-pink with coral tones and sparkling white gold shimmer. An undeniably girly shade for fingers and toes."

Where can you get Zoya?

Online of course, but I tend to buy in bulk from them at their biggest sales times, or I pick it up at discount at local retailers who are discontinuing stocking their products or other stores priced at around 7$ a bottle. Zoya online has it at 8$ currently. It should be noted that they are B4F: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor Free (as well as Vegan Friendly).

Zoya Order One on Hold

Apparently UPS decided nOT! to deliver my box today, so the goodies will have to wait. I really REALLY hope they don't require someone from the household to be present, as I'd rather my office take it on my behalf and sign for it... if so I might not get it till Thursday when someone's home and present to be there for it.

Ugh, on another note, the Zoya blog featured IVY today as a color choice by a twitter friend... this is one I chose for my 2nd round of pics! Can't wait to get my hands on it, looks good on their pics as seen below!

Redux and Preparation

This is one of my favorite colors, granted it is more nude and a light shimmer then I'm normally preferring, but it's good for a subtle color.




This is Sand in my Suit with Northern Lights Gold version (there are two, silver and gold).
