Nail Wear Wednesday!

I'm going to try to make Wednesday's when I highlight what today's (or my recent) nail polish is. I change it so often it's almost a different color or appearance every other day!

~Toes~
OPI - Down To My Last Penny
OTD - Northern Lights Gold (top coat)

~Fingers~
Essie - Glamour Purse
BEST Nail treatments - French Twist? (label was missing)
Right hand: George - Starry Eyed (17)

Perfect match to my shirt that I wore! (shirt by BCBG)

Notes:
Wow, do I love the OPI! It's a "black label" non-B3F but a beautiful color I have not seen replicated by other brands to look as good as this one does. So glad I managed to get my hands on it when I was 'dusty hunting' recently.

I did not think I was a fan of the Essie on my nails, but with the subtle top coat in the pink it was a understated addition that really sold me on BOTH colors.

I picked up the BEST at a local nail supply store (but they do not carry the full line and only had hit or miss colors). The OPI was from a nail salon that sold it to me. The Essie was part of a 6 pack from the new Essie Fall collection. The Essie can be found at Ulta for sure but other supply stores may carry it so ask around if it's something you need to have.

Nail Wear Wednesday!

I'm going to try to make Wednesday's when I highlight what today's (or my recent) nail polish is. I change it so often it's almost a different color or appearance every other day!

Today's is a big different, many bloggers do a "Pink Wednesdays" and even though I'm not a big fan of pink I figured I'd try a duo out that I had recently purchased that was in support of BCA (Breast Cancer Awareness).

~Toes~
MAC - Sly As A Fox
CND - Copper Shimmer #556

~Fingers~
CND - Pink Wishes (Colour)
CND - Pink Wishes (Pearl Effect)

Notes:
The Shimmer for the Pink Wishes shows up much better in regular outdoor lighting than it does under the camera flash. You may be able to see some settling of the light polish pink between my ridges, I did not use a ridge filler which may have contributed to that. I used 3 thin coats of the Pink Wishes and one of the shimmer, I probably should have gone with 2 coats of shimmer for a stronger effect.

The MAC polish has a very VERY slight shimmer, but not easily seen in daylight unless close up, one medium think coat of the CND copper shimmer was good enough to still keep the main color visible with some extra "oomph". I probably would not wear the brick colored MAC polish on it's own w/o a special effect top coat of some sort.

I purchased my CND at a local nail polish store so check with your local ones to find one that will carry this DUO.

The MAC was purchased at a CCO (located at outlet malls) and keep in mind the selections available from one store to another vary.

Nail Wear Wednesday!

~Toes~
I tried an alternating July 4th Red, White and Blue on my toes using Chanel, but the blue I was using tends to lean a bit dark (as does the Red) so it's not as nice as it could have been.

Chanel Pearl Drop 511
Chanel Feu De Russie 347
Chanel Nuit De Russie 357

Nubar Nubar 2010 as top coat on left side
Nubar (do not recall name) as top coat on right side (failure for intended appearance)

With Nubar 2010 on top:

With other Nubar on top (not a good application, either needs to be thinner or was to thick to allow bottom coat to come through):

No ~Fingers~ today since I'm still sporting the 4th Manicure from yesterday!

Where to get these Chanels?

I know tracking down the "De Russies" took quite a few calls to Lord&Taylor's and I finally tracked one down in Massachusetts? Pearl Drop a friend picked up for me along with Black Pearl when they first came out, if it's not totally gone from stores ask a SA to track one down for you if you have one that would do the legwork for you.

Nail Wear Wednesday!

Today on my both my hands and toes I am wearing Zoya. The toes look good with my outfit (in blue) today.

~Toes~
Zoya - Tallulah ZP481

Their website describes it as:
"Medium electric cobalt blue with fine bright aqua shimmer. A bold blue that looks good on all skin tones."

~Fingers~
Zoya - Cassi ZP472

Their website describes it as:
"Light warm peachy-pink with coral tones and sparkling white gold shimmer. An undeniably girly shade for fingers and toes."

Where can you get Zoya?

Online of course, but I tend to buy in bulk from them at their biggest sales times, or I pick it up at discount at local retailers who are discontinuing stocking their products or other stores priced at around 7$ a bottle. Zoya online has it at 8$ currently. It should be noted that they are B4F: Formaldehyde, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) and Camphor Free (as well as Vegan Friendly).
